[Something drew Flayn back to Garreg Mach. Mostly, she's sure, it's nostalgia. The years of her life spent there were some of her fondest, and her heart yearns for the friendships she made, before everything fell apart. Perhaps her father feels the same way, because he agreed with surprising ease to take her back there.
If the two of them are good at anything, by now, it's traveling quietly and without detection. Even with skirmishes breaking out, with Edelgard's invasion, they manage to safely return to the Monastery that Flayn loves so much. Even from a distance she can see the state it's in, and it makes her heart ache. The ache only grows as they get closer, twisting hard around in her chest. There are bandits camped nearby, and Seteth leaves Flayn be to go dispatch them, leaving her at the foot of the trail leading up to Garreg Mach proper. He tells her not to leave that spot.
She obeys, for a time.
Curiosity claws at her mind, though, and she begins to ascend. There's rubble and vines grown in, and she feels as if a decade had passed, not a simple couple of years. She shivers and hugs herself, feeling irrationally as if she's lost time. Or maybe the sense of foreboding is trying to warn her of something.
The sight that greets her as she steps into the Monastery itself leaves her frozen, for a moment. Then her eyes slowly widen, and she looses a horrified scream.]
W-What happened here?
[She starts to rush toward the bodies, looking for signs of life on any of them. Someone she can heal, someone she can save-
That's when she sees him.]
Dimitri?
[Her voice is soft, pained, as she's fighting not to cry. There's fear but more than that there's confusion and worry.]
